Voss Foundation’s Women Helping Women Hamptons Luncheon
Checkbook ready? We hope so. On August 1st charity once again finds itself in the East End. This time around, in honor of Georgie Badiel. VOSS Foundation is honoring the activist and model for her charitable efforts in West Africa. Badiel runs a namesake non-profit foundation centered on providing sustainable solutions to the water pandemic in sub-saharan Africa.
The festivities start at 12:30 PM at Southampton restaurant Tutto il Giorno with African bazaar shopping followed shortly thereafter by the 1:00 PM luncheon. Notable attendees include Gabby Karan de Felice (Donna’s daughter and owner of the resto where the event is taking place), Magatte Wade, Liliana Cavendish, Kelly Bensimon, Katherine Kung, and more.
Badiel is Burkinabé and is the 2004 miss Africa winner. She is currently preparing to release her first children’s book, The Water Princess, which she co-authored with Susan Verde and illustrated by Peter Reynolds.
Voss Foundation is dedicated to providing access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene as a means to enable community-driven development in Sub-Saharan Africa and raising awareness of the ongoing need in the region. They have raised over $789K for 32 water access points and 291 sanitation facilities.
