The Shop @ The MBH
The main goal behind The Shop this year is to bring the fun and creative nature of shopping back to the consumer by presenting you with fresh new brands to “discover” as well as sharing the corresponding background stories behind each brand/designer.
We want to inspire shoppers to get to know a little bit more behind the brands they buy and rock – where they come from and who made them. The retail industry has become so driven by e-commerce, off price discounters, and fast fashion – that the art of physically shopping, discovering new brands and their origin story has gotten lost in the mix.
We’ve set out to bring you cool new brands and unique pieces, many of them one of a kind. We are proud to support our local community by including a lot of brands that are local to Montauk. Some of the offerings are Made in NYC as part of current push to bring manufacturing back home to the city. Regardless of where they were conceptualized or created, ALL the pieces have a story to tell and we look forward to sharing it with you this 2017 season.
Here are some of the highlights:
THE MONTAUK BEACH HOUSE
Designed in-house by our Creative team, we are expanding our ever-growing selection of limited-edition, superb quality goods – tees, sweatshirts, jewelry, hats, patches – limited runs, super-limited availability.
Featuring exclusive collaborations between The Beach House designer and brands like Live In Color, RVCA, Skrapper, Silverella NYC, and more.
70’s inspired costume jewelry designed by founder, Stephanie, and hand-crafted in NYC out of reclaimed metals as part of an initiative to recycle excess waste from factories in today’s fashion industry.
Gold-dipped fossilized shark teeth – designed and founded by local shark diver, Bella (get to know her here). A portion of sales goes to a shark conservation organization.
Founded and designed by Bronx native, Ava; looks inspired by NYC’s 90’s music scene and made in NYC.
Founded and designed by Native New Yorker, Laura, as part of her mission to design fun swimwear that can keep up with the active girl – whether it be surfing or popping into a yoga class post sunbathing. Ethically and locally manufactured out of New York.
All organic, anti-aging skincare line founded by East Hampton local surfer and former acupuncturist, Rebecca. Her collection started solely as a night cream and due to increased popularity expanded to a full line of products made in small batches out of the freshest ingredients concocted by the founder herself. We will be carrying her tinted sunscreen as well as “Emergency First Aid Kit” for those summer moments of despair when sipping sugary cocktails poolside and hours in the sun take a toll on one’s complexion. Rebecca will also be offering complimentary facials on the daybeds by The Shop for so that guests can test out the product before purchase.
New York based apparel and accessory line founded by Korina, specializing in woolen printed pieces with designs stemming from her indigenous Northwest Coast Native American heritage. All her items are manufactured locally out of either Greenpoint, Brooklyn or NYC’s garment district with a strict minimal waste policy and passion for turning scraps into re-furbished fashions.
Ultra luxe and high performance activewear new to the fitness meets fashion scene and based out of Los Angeles. Creative Director, Michael Ball, uses today’s top technology in performance fabrications while designing silhouettes made to flatter and accentuate the female form.
