IN THE LOBBY GALLERY: RUVAN WIJESORRIYA “PRECIOUS”
The Montauk Beach House together with curator Nicole Ianniello invite you to the first solo exhibition with noted internationally acclaimed photographer Ruvan Wijesorriya – debuting selected works from his ongoing exploration of Precious moments and time. Precious investigates different series of works from the artist’s past, and present, and includes a highlighted work titled “Precious,” from his newer series. Torn prints of immortal scenes while shot in the Yucatan makes one conceptual picture, while other works are fun-loving shots from flashes captured while in Sweden and New York. Ruvan’s clever way to deal with getting tone, light, and nature addresses a strong improved perception in this group of work.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ruvan Wijesooriya came into the world in Duluth, Minnesota, in 1977. He had a migrant childhood as an offspring of Sri Lankans who joined the US Foreign Service. Following a degree in Political Economy and Gender Studies in 1999, Ruvan moved to New York City, establishing himself as a cutting-edge photographer by making public establishments and occasions with performers and utilizing innovation to encounter his work. Ruvan’s story method for managing photography examines our overall environmental factors’ general and nostalgic visual language. His scenes, portrayals, aeronautical perspectives, nature series, and article work are pushed by his ongoing examination of greatness and stylishness.
